Faculty at Harvard
Can it be said that Harvard has even edged out Yale in terms of having top notch faculty? Henry E. Smith moved from Yale to Harvard. HLS also has Anne Alstott, a tax scholar, and Yochai Benkler as the faculty director for the Berkman Centre. Also, it has Cass R. Sunstein from 2008. Yale scholar Akhil Reed Amar will also be at Harvard as visiting faculty. Along with these recent additions to their faculty, they also have famous stalwarts like Tribe, Tushnet and Dershowitz. So can it be said that they are right up there in terms of faculty...Any thoughts..

Absolutely...; For those who care about ratings, H might run Y ragged except that (thankfully for us) their intake is around 150 students to Y's 25....:) Yochai benkler, did he move to H recently? I remember reading his work in YLJ last year?

I've seen the faculty...they are aliens...and can only be destroyed by them coming into a contact with a white type powder.

Ya.. Yochai Benkler has moved to HLS....You have to applaud former HLS Dean Elena Kagan's role in raising the bar even higher at Harvard

Although Harvard's faculty may be more well-known, Yale's LLM program is considered far more prestigious than Harvard's LLM program. Not even a close call. It is very difficult to gain acceptance into Yale's program. Harvard, on the other hand, accepts a much higher number of applicants, and the admission standards at Harvard are much lower. I'm referring to the LLM program only.

you are right when u say that it is much more difficult to gain acceptance into yale because it admits only 25-30 students..and the world's best 25-30 study at yale..but, i believe that size of the class at harvard is also one of its great strengths..the class would be a diverse mix of many jurisdictions and that helps in the overall experience..Yale is yale..of course..but Harvard has its own strengths which are unmatched..
