Rejected!
On the 7th of this month, I received an email from the Uinversity of Helsinki rejecting my application for LLM in Public International Law. No reasons were given in the email, though they said that they will be posting a letter with more detailed information. Did anybody suffer a similar fate? I felt really disappointed because I had all the criteria and I didnt apply to any other school because I had high hopes of getting admitted at Helsinki

Rejected!
Hi Ishaya,Thu May 21, 2009 09:16 AM There are many reasons you could get rejected - you could have forgotten to send a certain document - instructions are usually so detailed and often confusing, they might have pre-determined numbers of students they want to accept from different parts of the world, or the competition might just be really tough. In any case, fulfilling the requirements stated on a website is never a guarantee of admission, and it's way too confident to only apply for 1 program. You could still try to see which programs have admissions for the second semester in February - good luck! Alex |

Rejected!
It is hard to tell why they have rejected your offer. However, the decision is at the discretion of the University and you cannot do anything with that. Sat May 23, 2009 01:19 PM You can always try to get place at other universities (provided that the deadlines did not pass). For instance, at University of Edinburgh the deadline for applying is 31 August. However, you have to bear in mind that the recruitment is very competitive... |
