I am doing an LLM this year but I don't know where to study. I was also considering Nottingham originally, but it may be too far away from where I live to study there.Thu Jul 09, 2009 12:42 AM Therefore, I want to know which law school is most prestigious and would look better on my CV, Birmingham or Warwick? Please reply as I'm really confused which to choose!! [Edited by Churchill on 09 Jul 2009] |

What do others think? I need as many responses as possible please as I'm really confused! Even if it is just a one word reply!Thu Jul 09, 2009 03:23 PM Private Equity 1, the only problem with Warwick is that it offers the LLM in International Economic Law, whereas I want to specialise in Commercial law. So if I apply to Commercial law firms, would they consider an Economic LLM similar to a Commercial one, or is it seen as a different animal entirely? I looked at the modules of the two, and they don't seem that different, but I'm worried about the perception. Would Commercial law firms see an Economic LLM as different to what they do. What do you think? [Edited by Churchill on 09 Jul 2009] |

For the record, Birmingham and Warwick are in West Midlands, Nottingham being East Midlands. They are in the same geographical region.Thu Jul 09, 2009 07:11 PM To answer your initial question, Warwick without a doubt. To your other query, it would be best to consult the said commercial law firms personally. |

PE1,Sat Jul 11, 2009 04:04 PM Would you say Nottingham is more prestigious than Warwick? I could choose Nottingham, but it would cost me about £10,000 more to study there. Do you think it is worth paying that much more to study at Nottingham? |
