California Bar Exam materials
I wish to sit the California bar exam in the forthcoming season, may those who have once sit or even passed the exam give some insights on how to get prepared for it? Generally speaking, what sorts of materials do I need to collect before kicking off revisions? Do I need to purchase any specific textbooks on American laws? How long is the normal time students would need to prepare for the exam in order to secure a pass in one attempt?Thu Sep 03, 2009 08:11 PM Besides, is there anyone who have already passed the California bar exams got the relevant materials / notes on hand which can be sold to me? Please let me know if you got any, regarding price it's perfectly negotiable =] All comments are welcome! |

buy the BarBri California Bar Exam Prepartion Set, do not buy anything pre-dating 2008 since the exam was expanded that year to include additional California-specific subjects (hence, earlier dated study materials will not include those subjects, e.g. Cal Civil Procedure, Cal. Evidence, etc.).Fri Sep 04, 2009 07:53 AM You should be able to get the complete set from Ebay anywhere between 250.00 to 500.00 (depending on its condition and the competitiveness of the bidding). As to study time required, it all depends on your abilities and background, if you come from a common law jurisdiction, about two months of prepration should be enough, but again it depends on the individual; it certainly takes way much more effort for those with civil law background. good luck! Would the full set include materials on the MBE? I have a common-law background, so perhaps it may take a relatively shorter time to do the preparation. Yet on 'two months' are you referring to revsions done on a full-time basis? In addition, just wonder if UK CPE holders are eligible to take the CA bar exam (or even the NY bar) given that they have completed the practical training (such as the LPC) necessarily required for entry into the profession as a trainee? thank you once again! |
