Petroleum Law and Policy (Dundee) v Oil and Gas Law (Robert Gordon University)
HiWed Sep 23, 2009 05:53 PM I have been looking at the above and am unsure as to which one to go for. Is anyone currently studying any of these at those institutions? I want to work Africa and just wonder which one would be more suitable? In terms of reputation which University is more regarded than the other? Any comments would be appreciated Ella |

Hey there!Wed Sep 23, 2009 10:45 PM As always, it very much depends on what you want to achieve from your LLM...I can only recommend CEPMLP. Given your ultimate career plan, i.e working on the African continent, I would definitely go for Dundee over Aberdeen given the international reputation of the Centre. The student intake is predominantly from African countries with a good mix of students from Europe and North& South America -the majority of students also have previous work experience so the standard is generally quite high. The centre also offers a number of LLM courses by way of distance learning, should that be something you may wish to consider. Apart from course content and reputation of the Centre (at Dundee you will have a lot of subject choices ranging from law and economics), keep in mind that Aberdeen is a fairly expensive place to live and that in Dundee, the student population and the campus are located around a small area so much easier to get settled into things. |
