Swansea or Exeter
I got Int Commercial and Maritime from Swansea and Exeter's Int commercial law. They are good universities ; Swansea is one of the best in maritime law, Exeter is UK's topten university and one of the best in Finance( LLM student can choose Business School's modules). Both of them start on early October. For the reputation(in any speciallise area of law), what should I choose? Anyone please give me a clue. Thanks very much

Exeter has a more solid reputation.Wed Sep 30, 2009 11:47 PM I can't comment on Swansea's reputation as I have no idea about their LLM programme. |

If one wants to specialise in Maritime Law, Swansea is definitely the choice (between it and Exeter). Thu Oct 01, 2009 06:35 AM Not many Law Schools in the UK offer this specialisation: these are, as far as I know, City, Bristol, Southampton, Swansea...I am not quite sure if Nottingham and another Welsh school, Cardiff, also have this specialised programme. |

Thank you very much for the comments. Now I am Swansea LLM student and found that it is strong in Commercial law particularly Maritime Law. However, some popular classes are not as small as someone mentioned in this board. I also found that Exeter's LLM is strong in EU law.

I am a ship management student but I had a friend who did a research as to which law School in the Uk is best in commercial and maritime law (in fact he visited several universities himself) but I have never heard him talking of Exeter university as a place stoing in commerce law - I think their reputation is in EU law

Thanks BKKBOY! I agree with you. In your/ your friend's opinion, what are good UK universities in Maritime law area. I think you are Thai, to be honest, I am Thai but I don't know much about shipping market in Thailand. I chose charter parties, cargo claim, marine insurance and inter trade but I am not sure my knowledge in charter parties and cargo claim will be useful in Thailand. Do you mind to give me your email? Mine is Chokanan_ch@hotmail.com, cheers
