Re: City Launches January LLM Entry
Dear ltalev I respect your opinion and trust your judgement, but I don't understand why you should not believe mine ? What interest do I have to denigrate a university which I have attended?Fri Feb 26, 2010 09:36 AM I am talking about my personal experience, only. Clearly, other people will have different opinions, which I respect. Jobs were promised during meeting, reassurances that everyone would have got a professional experience at the end of it. Regarding my interviews, yes, clearly I got some, but most of employee didn't even know what was "City university". Again this is my experience during interviews. Feel free to believe it or not. Re: City Launches January LLM Entry
Hey guys, I really dont want to be part of any of these "cheap accusations etc" I just want to give you some info which may be helpful. Fri Feb 26, 2010 03:02 PM Firstly, at City internships were promised and promises were kept. In fact, I got one of these and one year later I still have a job with one of the biggest law firms and trust me they know City University. Moreover, although I believe is common sense I will have to inform you that internships -are in any place of the world- given to the best performances. That is how it works. It may be frustrating but at the same time is fare, dont you think so? Imagine that when you were spending you time looking for "love affairs" other students were studying. Second, if anyone thinks that having an LLM equals a job then I am very sorry but you dont have connection with the legal world. An LLM is simply a precondition if you even consider to apply for a job in a Law Firm. Without it, unless you are Brit they wont even finish reading your CV. Third, regarding ranking please is enough. Of course UCL, Kings etc are lovely Universities but if you think that they ensure "jobs"....tell them and they will laugh. Fourth, finding a job is extremely hard especially if someone considers the legal rescession London is experiencing, so many people no matter the rank of their LLM Uni have lost their jobs because thre was no work. Hope, I helped. |

Hey Guys, let's calm down. Ok, we know that City is not a top choice, but who cares if it's a bad university ? There are plenty of university to choose in UK..
