Sorry to ask a (maybe) stupid question, but what do you mean by "completion e-mail"? An e-mail simply stating your online application was submitted correctly or an e-mail saying your whole application, including materials posted in paper, have been received? Just asking not to become too worried about my own Early Review application... Thanks in advance, appreciate it.

If you applied you should receive both.
The second one means the documentation has been received and you'll be contacted as soon as there is a decision.

I have also applied for the Early Review Program. I'm not sure if it was a good idea though. Hopefully, the decision from Columbia will be the first one to come. G'luck everyone.

Im very worried too about the Early Review...I dont think my application is strong enough for it, im hoping for a deferal if not admission - an outright rejection will be devastating!

Anyone from the UK applying?
Cheers

Good luck for all!!!

michaelcorleone - Are you sure that Sylvia Polo makes a decision on her own? Does it mean that Sylvia will chose who gets aceepted in the Early Review? Thanks in advance.

I'm back with a further question and grateful for advice. The Columbia Early Review got back to me and said my application is incomplete as I have not sent them ORIGINAL documents (ie transcripts, diplomas)?! I understood it should be enough with certified copies!!? At least that's what is said in the instructions... worrying!

Yeah, thanks, I guess I have no choice... but I'm right on this one? They can't be requiring originals suddenly, right..?

I couldn't get my stuff together in time to do this - doh! Good luck though guys, hope you all get your acceptances through in a few months. BTW, is this one of those thingies where they force you to take the place if they offer it or can you wait to hear from other schools? I've heard for the JD you must accept the offer or they will revoke it. I haven't done as much research as I should have done, clearly.

not really sure why they didn't accept your certified true copies. did they have a stamp and seal of your school saying it's a certified true copy?

For LL.M. Early Review, they will allow you some time, I heard they will need your acceptance by mid March.

LEXTRA...

I reckon its probably better to go through the regular cycle, as I think, through the Early Review, I will either be deferred or rejected outright....

Is there nobody from the UK applying?

Michaelcorleone - thanks for your kind help, I just received confirmation from Columbia saying that it was a mistake from their side and that my transcripts are OK.

Thank you Vert.

Do we get a second chance for review in the regular round if we are rejected in the early review?

There are 3 possibilities for the Early Review applicants:
1. Accepted;
2. Defferred;
3. Rejected.
If you are rejected there is no second chance on the regular round. The decision is final. Best you cand do is to reapply next year...

Hemmm...So what are the advantages for early review then?
(1) you get to know your result earlier?
(2) you get a chance to prove to CLS your loyalty to them?

the advantage, if you are accepted, is that you don't have to deal with the excruciating wait. around april, you will understand what i mean.
