LSE LL.M
Hello,Fri Nov 06, 2009 11:13 PM I have applied for the LL.M. at LSE - UK Applicant - just wondering if anyone has recieved any sort of a completion email from LSE? I submitted ALL of my materials around 3 weeks ago -but have not heard anything. Has anyone heard ANYTHING from them? Are they having technical difficulties? Cheers guys |

I've had three emails saying that the application is in the system, but not the fourth one which confirms completion / allocates a number that will allow online tracking. The third email said that they weren't starting to process applications until 29 or 30 October, and I got the impression that all applications (regardless of courses) are processed centrally and then allocated to departments. So I imagine they just have a really big pile of applications to go through.....

Just like you, I have submitted 4 weeks ago and still haven't received the fourth email.Sun Nov 08, 2009 01:20 PM We should all visit everyday the page "current processing time", which is updated daily. At the moment it reads "we have not yet started processing new applications for 2010" but they should do so by the beginning of November...next week? |

I just got the fourth email. They said that I should expect a response in 8 weeks, so only in January.

Aargh. I am not a patient person. This is going to drive me mad. Mon Nov 09, 2009 03:46 PM Also, I'm going to have to hedge my bets by applying to KCL and QM as well, aren't I... otherwise it will be too late. Was hoping not to have to bother my academic referees again..... |

I now have my fourth email (indicating an eight week wait time) - it also says one of my references is outstanding, which is odd as it was submitted electronically and I received email confirmation of its receipt some time ago....

By way of update - even if you have submitted references electronically (and had email acknowledgement of their receipt), LSE still go through a process of printing them out, checking them in some way, and then "adding" them to the application i.e. references submitted electronically are not automatically added to the application. So they may show as missing for an initial period, even though they are in the hands of LSE.

I've just received the fourth email also... considering they haven't acknowledge receipt of my references, I'd say the 8-week period mentioned in the email will most likely take an additional two to three weeks... I posted my reference, but they were delivered almost two weeks ago…

beicon - sadly I think you're right (annoying when you know that the documents are with them!). Although in practice, the admissions team probably consider the applications in batches, don't you think?

Alright, I got the fourth e-mail, as well. Did you guys (and girls) already send in your IELTS results by post or are you waiting for an offer and are going to send them in later?Wed Nov 11, 2009 05:44 PM Because my status says "pending further preliminary documentation", and I was under the impression that they decide whether they're going to give you an offer even without the IELTS results in hand (especially if you provide the scores in the application form), and that you can therefore send that in when you receive their conditional offer. sorry, can't help on that as English is my first language.Wed Nov 11, 2009 05:58 PM Have just realised that I have some sort of inbuilt gender prejudice and am assuming that everyone is male unless there's an obvious indicator to the contrary. that's weird. |

About the ielts I just informed my scores and the test report form on the appropriate fields.Wed Nov 11, 2009 08:25 PM I am worried because in the list of my supporting documents there were just the douments I sent by post (reference letters and the transcript of one course I am currently taking). But the documents I sent online (personal statment, degree transcript etc) were not listed. However I didnt get any message about any outstanding document. The same happened to you guys? I am a girl too :-) |

Judy, so what does your "Status of Application" say? And how about "Documentation"? For me with the latter it's a couple of "passed check", "copy received" for the transcript and then two additional items. No mention of the personal statement and the degree certificate, either.
