Is LL.B plus LL.M enough to sit bar in any State?
I have a very unique situation. LL.B., but am not qualified as a lawyer in my home country. The requirement is LL.B plus 2 years of professional studies. I am now in an LL.M. program in the US. Will this qualify me to sit the bar in any state in the US? New York is telling me I MUST complete all the requirements to be a lawyer in my country to be eligible, even though I have the equivalence of JD. Tell says I have fulfilled the "educational duration" to sit the bar in NY, but there is one deficiency that has to be cured i.e. ALL the educational requirement for a lawyer in my home country must first be fulfilled.

cannot guarantee anything, but you should give a look if you meet the requirements set forth by the DC bar association. I think it can be the only one available to you.
