Use of Land and Environmental

Hi, folks. Just new here, direct from Brazil and intending to course a LL.m in USA or, as a second choice, in UK. Hope you have some patience with me because i've got a lot of doubts.
Firts one, here it comes: What would be a good LL.m specialized in environmental law that has, as well, enphasis in use of land or, maybe, built environmental, think i can call it this way.
Even if the LL.M is not specific for environmental and use of land, such the general LL.m offered by the most of the university, would be very worthy if you could give me the information about colleges or universities where i can find many options of courses that match my preferences to environmental and use of land. P.s. I work for my local government, basically making use of environmental an use of lan Law. Hey, i should say that since 1998 i don't study the English language, i must work hard in order to you guys be able to understand me or, even more important, to make through the Toefl exam.
Thanks.
Everton

Thanks. University of Florida was one of the few that i could fin in the web.
I would strongly appreciate if could be given me some other suggestion. I also found out that NYU has got ma LL.M in this field. I'm looking for "big names" universities, because, to get the return of the big investment that i intending to do, i need a easily recognized name. I know is difficult to got to the famous ones, but a i will try, improve my English and try. Notice that i posted this question after i had looked for this information all around this discussion board and all around the majors websites.
Any suggestion would be appreciated, even if the LL.M is not specific for environmental and use of land, but offers courses that match my preferences to environmental and use of land.
Thanks.

Hi,

I met a guy yesterday and he is doing a PhD in Harvard in this practice area and he told me that PACE is the best university for what you want.

He is a famous lawyer in Brazil and works in the same area.

I think you should go to PACE website and search for further info about the program.

First of all, thank you guys for the help so far.
With regard to Pace, Iíve seen its website and i couldn't find anything about built environmental (I think it's the same of "land use"). I want to find some others Top Law Schools that, as happens to NYU, has courses about land use. I'm not sure, but I think that would be more likely in universities located in big cities. For example, NYU has a institute called Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy, where is developed studies in relation to what I want.
Any other place where I can find something similar?
Thank you, and good luck for us!

I am not sure, but i think that Pace University is established in NY. The guy who told me about Pace also mentioned others universities, however, I can not remember right now.

Anyway, I will try to meet him this week for a talking and for some advices and I will ask him the names of universities and then I post here ok?

Hope it helps.

Really nice. I hope hearing from you. Just one thing: i check it out once again the Pace Website (NY, indeed) and i could find that they offer courses in respect to land use, they also have a Center related to this subject and linked to the University. But i would be very pleased if i can find some others good options. Maybe a Top University. I will aim at the stars.
If possible, ask him about a university that, besides matching my desire, as i told above, is situated in a big city. Best luck for all of us.

Take a look at Vermont Law School which is the number one at US.News ranking and Lewis & Clark College.

Berkeley, Duke and NY University also have a good environmental program.

Everton, our law school has come up in these responses so I thought I'd add a little more information. Lewis & Clark Law School's environmental LL.M. attracts international students from all over the world. We've have LL.M. graduates from Brazil, Chile, and Ecuador and currently have a student from Peru. Our school is often ranked the top environmental and natural resources law school in the U.S.

Our name is well-known in environmental circles in the U.S. because we have graduated so many outstanding students who have gone on to practice law in government, law firms and non-governmental organizations.

We offer Land Use Planning, Land Use Seminar and many other courses relevant to land use. With respect to the built environment, we offer Sustainability in Law and Business Seminar, Environmental Business Transactions, Property Transactions and a Commercial Real Estate Seminar. There are many other environmental and general law courses relevant to the built environment depending on your interest. For more information about our environmental law program see our website at www.lclark.edu/law/programs/environmental_and_natural_resour… and for more about the LL.M. program see www.lclark.edu/law/programs/environmental_and_natural_resour…

We have a Community Development Legal Clinic that trains students in all aspects of community development as well as nonprofit law. You can see more about the CDLC at legacy.lclark.edu/dept/blaw/cdlprogram.html.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about our program.
