When I applied for the LLM program I was told it was a 'must' to take the TOEFL. I told them( the admission folks) that I didn't see the relevance of TOEFL especially since all my legal education had been conducted in English Language. I maintained this position and was eventually given a waiver. Later on, I found out that everyone else in my LLM class had to take the TOEFL including my best friend from Pakistan who also had all her education in English!!!!

What can you take away from this? Paying LSAC $185 (US) is simply a rip-off. Unless push turns to shove, simply claim 'ignorance' and go ahead and make arrangements to have all your remaining material(s) sent in. Let NYU continue to 'strongly prefer' as much as they want!

Best of Luck....
