LL.M. European Law, Need an advice!!

Fri Feb 12, 2010 12:13 AM I have been admitted to several programs in the field of European law: Maastricht, Groningen (EU Law & Human Rights) and Lisbon (Law in European and Global Context). I do not know where to go. Can you share your opinions on which one you think would be the best choice?? Regards, Anika

I am enrolled in their European Law School Programme their right now and would say it's the best in Europe. Brussels is only an hour by train, you are literally close to all the EU institutions.

He's loving it and by christmas he was already receiving plenty of job opportunities from Brussels. There are also lots of research centers for the EU, the UN and some NGO's. They do a lot of work with the faculty and will regularly employ students part-time. The student body is also fairly international, but I don't know the exact figures. I've also heard great things about Groningen and Lisbon, they both have prestigious law faculties. I'm doing my LLB in Maastricht and I know that its law faculty has good international reputation in the field of EU law.

Subjects here are changing every week, but altogether they look like a bunch of flowers: different colors, but fitting perfectly together, one giving new meaning to the other and together giving you a really rich perspective about what “the law” is. And the same is even more true about the professors: diverse in perspectives and specializations but united by high reputation and similar attitude to students and teaching. Up to now, I've met here the best professors from Europe, America and Australia (names like Weiler, Maduro, Lasser, Kumm or Halberstam) and enjoyed intensive discussions with them in a small group of students (well, let’s call it a Socratic method;). All of this is supported by enthusiastic staff of Católica and of course by Lisbon: one of the most pleasant cities of Europe, full of sun, confectionery and music.
