Paralegal position
Hi thereThu Nov 10, 2005 02:10 PM Paralegal work in the UK is difficult to get if you have no UK experience. However, you should register your CV with some agencies (who should also help you with your CV to adapt it to the UK market) and get the agency to help you out. The most difficult thing that you will find aside from entry to the Paralegal world will be navigating your way around the courts. As long as you are clear with the instructing Solicitor as to your instructions and remit then it is a relatively easy although organisation demanding job. relevant websites: www.nationalparalegals.com/ you can register with these people but I have yet to experience their support www.saslawcourses.org/ I did a couple of weekends with these people and the information was useful - particularly on how you should act and how you should organise yourself (also whether to be self employed or employed). vacancies: www.totallylegal.com/ www.lawcareers.net/ Most jobs will be in personal injury, small claims and things like repossessions and charging orders. If you want something more specific, suggest contacting the law firms directly. Law firms can be found at: www.legal500.com www.lawsociety.org.uk/choosingandusing/findasolici… hope this helps :p [Edited 20 Jan 2007 by Admin] |
