<description>To speak also for Germany (although from my point of view this is true for Europe in general): The preference is certainly towards US. But I spoke with several recruiters of big law firms (Clifford, Linklaters etc.). They all told me in the end they would not care about the law school, as long as it is anglo-american. Certainly, HLS and NYU are pretty on your c.v., but what really counts are your language competences and a basic knowledge of the different legal system. Both aims can be pursued at University of Arizona as well. If you have been in the UK, it will not cost you a thing on the job market. Oxbridge, LSE, Edinburgh, King&#39;s College... - great schools and not that expensive. In my opinion, you should decide following your interests: LL.M. mainly for language purposes and insight in common law: UK; LL.M. because of special research interest (PhD): US.
