University of Edinburgh application acknowledgement?

University of Edinburgh application acknowledgement?

Hello everyone,

Could you tell me if the University of Edinburgh sends an acknowledgement when they receive your application form? Or do they only inform you when a decision is taken?

I'm a little worried because I've sent my application form a couple of weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything from them...

Well, my application got there on Dec 5th and I got a first acknowledgement on Dec 8th (to tell me they received it) and a second one on Dec 20th to tell me that my materials were sent to the School of Law.

So I guess you should have received an acknowledgement.

I have applied to 8 schools and all but one have acknowledged the receipt (Queen Mary being the one with no acknowledgement) of my file.

Thank you for your answer Fburnat.
I've sent them an e-mail today and they've replied that my application form and materials were sent to the School of Law today...

Queen Mary acknowledges by ordinary mail, so it takes a while. I got an acknowledgement of Queen Mary about two weeks after my application got there.

So now all we can do is wait for the decision to be taken...

I sent the applications to these universities 7 days ago, so far I still haven't heard from any:
- Queen Mary
- UCL
- KCL
.... any idea?

For UCL and KCL, I can't say, but concerning Queen Mary, they received my application file on Dec 7th, the application completion letter was dated on Dec 14th, and since it was sent by mail I received it on Dec 21th. So you should get some news in the following two weeks either by post or email (I applied to 8 unis and they all confirmed one way or the other).

Hello,

As for me I applied to the Unversity of Edinburgh on March 28, 2007. And I didn't receive any acknowledgments. I wrote the e-mail but got no reply. And I was really upset about that. However, how lucky I was when I received an unconditional offer by post in May 26!!!

So miracles are possible!
