hi, all.

Actually I think they, to some extent, still judge applications on country basis, because as far as I know, the other one and me from the same country both got the rejection today.

all come from Taiwan.

about the Appel or Human Rights scholarships, i read in the CLS that they have not awarded it. You may check it out by going to the admitted page (yup, you can click it even if you have not been admitted) and it will contain information regarding the financial aid application. it was last updated on 22 february, i think. :-)

Marietta LaFargue from Admissions´ Office told me that Appel Schollarship will be awarded one month from now approx.

I just called Columbia. The lady I spoke to was pretty nice and provided useful information (I didn't get her name though). Apparently, they will continue to send out admission letters until around April 15. However, she said that if an urgent response was needed because of a pending deadline with some other university, we could fax them the admission letter form the other school and request an expedited review of our application in order to make a timely decision. I haven't. I'm still waiting for other responses which are due sometime between tomorrow and the 24th. I guess I'll probably fax them early Arpil, if there's still no response and in case there's a chance that I may struggle to meet some of the other deadlines. I already have a deadline for April 15th, although I'm still waiting for a decision regarding scholarship.

Sorry to anounce you that so abruptly but Columbia disintegarted during reentry into the Earth's atmosphere, on Feb. 1st, 2003. I thought you were aware of that.

I e-mailed CLS and got this reply "Our admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis beginning in December and ending sometime near the end of April. When a decision is made you will be notified by email. Thank you for your patience in this process."
