International Master of Laws (LL.M.) Diploma Programme

The Faculty of Law offers the International Master of Laws (LL.M.) Diploma Programme since 1992. The International LL.M. Diploma is a postgraduate qualification accommodated to meet the needs of both further professional development and research work. The completion of the programme provides students with in-depth knowledge of the specialization they have chosen and prepares them especially for international career opportunities within their field of expertise. As the programme is not a part of the Finnish degree system, the LL.M. diploma does not give students formal competence for any particular position, profession or similar, for which a Master’s degree is a pre-requirement. However, it is possible to be admitted to postgraduate degree studies (Doctor of Laws) at the University of Helsinki with a combination of a previous LL.B. and the Helsinki LL.M. Diploma.

The programme combines course work requirements with preparation of a Master’s thesis. The language of instruction is English. It takes one year full-time studying to complete the programme. For more information on International Master of Laws (LL.M) Diploma Programme, please see the links below.

Application deadline for 2008-2009 was March 31st 2008.
