Admission to the LL.M Programme is made strictly on merit, based on a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) to be conducted on the 11th of May 2008 at different centres across the country. NLSIU-Bangalore, NALSAR-Hyderabad, NLIU-Bhopal, NUJS-Kolkata, NLU- Jodhpur, HNLU-Raipur and GNLU-Ahmedabad have come together to conduct Common Law Admission Test. Eligibility
A candidate with LL.B./B.L. degree or equivalent degree from any University with 55% of marks is eligible to apply for LL.M.. The maximum intake will be 60 subject to SC (15%), ST (7.5%) and disability (3%) reservations.
There is no separate quota for foreign students. Interested foreign students may apply directly in the CLAT application form with supporting documents to the Registrar, NALSAR, Hyderabad on or before 10th April, 2008
The duration of the LL.M. course is two years and each year comprises two semesters.
Each candidate must choose an area of specialisation from the following:
1. Human Rights.
2. Environment Law
3. Intellectual Property
4. Corporate Law and Governance (including International Business)
5. Insurance Laws
6. Constitutional Law
7. Criminal Law
Note: A subject specialization will be on offer only if sufficient number of students opt for it.
The LL.M. is based on the semester system. The first semester will have four compulsory courses:
Comparative Jurisprudence
Comparative Constitutional Law
Teaching Methods and Research Methodology
Public International Law
In the next two semesters, the students will take up papers and seminars in their respective subjects of choice. In the fourth semester, the students will write the dissertation.

The titles and the course content of the papers in each of the optional areas will be as prescribed from time to time by the Faculty Committee. The Faculty Committee consists of the Vice-Chancellor and two other Members either internal or external to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor, one of whom will be from the area of specialisation concerned.
