Law at Sussex has undergone significant expansion in recent years: the establishment of the Sussex Law School and the appointment of new faculty members, with established research reputations, have enabled us to extend our range of research supervision and to introduce new taught graduate programmes in Law. It has also allowed the School to develop concentrations of research specialisms in particular areas. There are now established groups working in the fields of Family and Child Law, International Law. Criminal Law, Healthcare Law and Human rights are also well represented.

Research
Research supervision in the Sussex Law School is available in a broad range of areas, reflecting the research interests of faculty members. The School is particularly keen to receive applications from students interested in International Criminal Law, Criminology, Family and Child Law, European Law, Property Law, Company Law and Insolvency.
Current and recent research topics of students within the School include: human rights in the criminal process; the treatment of refugees; jury trial; the English magistracy; cohabitation and marriage; women and constitutional reform; law and mortality; the World Trade Organization and drug trafficking.
