The University

Nottingham Trent University attracts students from across the globe and has a student population of around 26,000. Our teaching is underpinned by strong research. All of our research units were rated as nationally or internationally important in the last Research Assessment Exercise, and four gained the coveted '5' Grade.

Nottingham Trent University welcomes international students. We provide the distinctive qualities and advantages of the British Higher Education system within an environment accustomed to the demands and sensitivities of many different cultures.

The Law School

Nottingham Law School is one of the largest full service university law schools in the UK, supporting students through every stage of legal training from undergraduate through to Masters, research, professional and practitioner courses. Crucially, the School has an unrivalled reputation for providing innovative postgraduate level courses and training. This reputation has been nurtured through the Law School’s commitment to ensuring that all clients, from undergraduates to experienced practitioners, receive high quality practical legal education and training.

The Program

In the competitive area of law, graduates are increasingly keen to develop their academic profile through postgraduate study. Meeting this demand, Nottingham Law School provides excellent facilities for those wishing to register for an MPhil or PhD, and a range of exciting and topical academic masters programmes (LLMs).

Nottingham Law School offers a flexible approach to postgraduate study by offering students the opportunity to ‘build’ an LLM programme to suit their interests and professional requirements.

Students will be able to graduate with named awards reflecting their own specialisms and interests, for example an LLM in a single subject, a joint LLM, or an LLM with a major and minor subject. Some of the programmes are suitable for applicants from a non-legal background, for example: Health Law, Sports Law and International Criminal Justice.
