Track 1 - European Law Advanced
This track offers a generalist approach with an emphasis on the concepts of European Union law. It gives students the opportunity to acquire an advanced understanding of the core issues of EU law. By participating in the European Law Moot Court students can practice their legal skills at a high level.
The LL.M. is available as a one year degree, and is structured as follows:
Compulsory courses:
· European Competition Law 7 EC
· Advanced Notions of European Law 7 EC
· EU External Relations Law 7 EC
Semi-optional courses (at least one course is compulsory):
· European Internal Market Law 7 EC
· Judicial Protection in the EU 7 EC
· European Law Moot Court Competition 7 EC
Optional courses (a maximum of two courses):
· Intellectual Property: Copyright Law 7 EC
· International/European Tax Law 7 EC
· European Employment Law 7 EC
· Comparative Constitutional Law 7 EC
· European Legal History 7 EC
· Philosophy of Law 7EC
Master’s thesis 18 EC
Track 2 - Human Rights and Migration Law
A unique feature of this track is that it combines human rights and immigration law courses, two areas that are among the most important in the European Union today. LL.M. students
benefit from the outstanding knowledge and experience of the Centre for Migration Law, which focuses on issues related to migration and minority protection.
The LL.M. is available as a one year degree, and is structured as follows:
Compulsory courses:
· European Competition Law 7 EC
· Advanced Notions of European Law 7 EC
· EU External Relations Law 7 EC
Semi-optional courses (at least one course is compulsory, two courses maximum):
· European Immigration Law 7 EC
· European and Comparative Refugee Law 7 EC
· Protection of Human Rights (Advanced) 7 EC
Optional courses (a maximum of two courses):
· European Fundamental Rights and Freedoms 7 EC
· International Individual Criminal Responsibility 7 EC
· Comparative Constitutional Law 7 EC
· European Legal History 7 EC

· Public International Law Advanced 7 EC
Master’s thesis 18 EC
Track 3 - European Business Law
This track offers students the chance to become experts in the area of European business law. They benefit from the knowledge of the renowned Business and Law Research
Centre. This centre combines academic excellence with the practical expertise of major companies and law firms. The centre has been accredited by the Royal Netherlands
Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).
The LL.M. is available as a one year degree, and is structured as follows:
Compulsory courses:
· European Competition Law 7 EC
· Advanced Notions of European Law 7 EC
· EU External Relations Law 7 EC
Semi-optional courses (at least one course is compulsory):
· Finance and Insolvency Law 7 EC
· European and Comparative Company Law 7 EC
· European Private Law 7 EC
Optional courses (a maximum of two courses):
· Intellectual Property: Copyright Law 7 EC
· Private International Law 7 EC
· International/European Tax Law 7 EC
· European Internal Market Law 7 EC
Master’s thesis 18 EC
After successfully completing each of these programme of 60 EC’s, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree is awarded.

The Faculty

The current European Law programme is taught in English. A student of this LL.M. benefits from the extensive experience and expertise of our academic staff. The approach to teaching is small-scale, personal, and interactive. Master’s students have close contact with both lecturers and fellow students, as classes are deliberately kept small. The Faculty of Law at Radboud University Nijmegen is rated number one in the Netherlands for student satisfaction.
Entry Requirements
· An undergraduate, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law (or equivalent) and knowledge of the basic concepts of international or European Law (as established by the Examinations Board).· Proven fluency in both written and spoken English (e.g TOEFL, score at least 80, internet based)

- a copy of IELTS, TOEFL or CAE certificate

The preliminary admission decision will be based on the information provided in the application form. If the information is incomplete, we reserve the right to reject an application.
After receipt of your application form and the necessary documents, one of the student counsellors will check to see that the application is complete and will evaluate your preliminary education. You may include an evaluation of your diploma(s) or degree(s) from Nuffic.
The student counsellor will submit your application to the Examining Board of the study programme of your choice and recommend that you either be admitted, conditionally admitted or denied admission. The Board will assess your application and will make a recommendation to the University Board. The University Board will inform you of their final decision within 3 months of receiving your application.

Tuition and Fees
The tuition fee for the academic year 2011/2012 is €1713 for students of the EEA-countries as well as for foreign students with scholarships from the Dutch government. The fee for students from other countries is € 8913.Financial Aid
Radboud University Nijmegen has its own Radboud Scholarship Programme. This programme offers a selected number of talented prospective non-EEA students the opportunity to receive a scholarship to pursue an English-taught Master’s degree programme at Radboud University Nijmegen. Deadline: 1 March.If you intend to apply for a scholarship, such as the Radboud Scholarship, please make sure you send in your admission request well before the closing date of the scholarship programme of your choice.

The ERANET-MUNDUS project is an Erasmus Mundus Partnership, funded with support from the European Commission, that aims to establish strong ties and mobility flows between Russian and European universities.
Radboud University is proudly taking part in this project; a selected number of talented Russian students will have an opportunity to receive a scholarship for an English-taught Master's degree programme at Radboud University Nijmegen. All Russian students can apply.

Location

A short-stay option is offered to students who start the programme in September, making
it possible to stay in Nijmegen for only the first semester. Their thesis and optional courses can be undertaken at their home university or one of the Faculty of Law’s partner universities, provided that the courses have been approved by the Examinations Board of the Faculty of Law at Radboud University Nijmegen. Personal supervision by Faculty staff
will still be offered during the writing of the thesis.
Accommodation

EEA-students must apply before 1 May (1 December for start in February) for guaranteed accommodation during their stay at Radboud University. Applications after these dates will be considered, but accommodation and assistance for the visa and residence permit cannot be guaranteed.
Student Life

Nijmegen is easily accessible from all parts of the Netherlands, and, thanks to good public transport connections, cities such as Brussels and Paris are only a few hours away. Within the town itself, however, the best way to get around is by bicycle.
The University campus is situated very near to the city centre and offers excellent facilities for students such as University library, University sports centre, a bookshop as well as restaurants and cafés.
