Mine too! along with HLS, NW, Duke, and Berkeley...now I've just to wait (a long time) before knowing where I'm going to be admitted, and whether or not I'll be granted with some scholarship (my first concern). best of luck to all of you!

I have submitted my application last week!

I understand that Chicago evaluates it on a rolling basis - is my understanding right? Also, anyone know how generous they are in extending financial aid?

Cheers,
Greg

Hi Greg!
I think indeed they evaluate the applications on a rolling basis. They say something on their website like, most of the admitted applicants had sent their applications by early November.. then we're right on time :)
I think they send the decisions about mid April, right? it seems quite long though...
about the financial assistance, they indicate that very little aid can eventually be granted and they suggest the applicants to really look for other sources of financial aid..

I submitted mine on Saturday. I think their mentioning that most addmited applicants are appliying in early November ist just another way to put a bit of a pressure on us, in order to gain more time for reviewing (much like Havard's "semi-deadline" on Nov. 15th).

From browing through some of the older threads on this board I got the impression that applicants have been sent out as early as late February. Perhaps that changes from year to year though.

Hi

yes they sent me a confirmation email after 2 weeks more or less...
Maybe they need a bit more time than 10 days to process the applications... i think maybe you should wait a few days, and then if you still don't hear from them, email them! good luck!!

Thanks for the prompt reply, it's good to know that they take their time but eventually confirm, as I was beginning to wonder, all the more as until now they havent requested my LSAC report, either. I guess NYU and CLS (email after less than a week) were just unusually quick.

I just checked and yeah, it took them exactly two weeks to confirm and request the LSAC report (both on the same day...). maybe at the end of the week you should ask them..
You're applying to CLS and NYU too? me too. where else? I applied (with absolutely no illusion) to Harvard, and Cornell, Duke, Georgetown (but this one application got lost on its way to the US, so..)

Thanks for checking, let's see if the Austrian mail is faster than the French one ;) (Although in view of its current intern turmoils, I'm not sure, but thats another story).

I also try Harvard, I think everyone does while he's "at it". And while everyone also downplays his chances, at the end of the day those 150 spots DO get filled, right? So why not just wait and see! I actually liked wiritng the legal essay, I think it was less stressful and more "open" than having to show off elegantly about one's achievements (which is what a PS is all about actually).

Other than that I'm trying Berkeley, but still have to finish the PS. Perhaps I'll eventually add Duke and/or Cornell etc. for safety reasons, they all have the Feb. 1st deadline anyway.

hey applicant 2009,

I've understood that the deadline is Dec the 15th and that the review of the applications start late November. That's at least what is stated on their internet page.
I sent my application a week ago, and am still waiting for the confirmation e-mail. In addition to Chicago, I'm applying for NYU and Georgetown. NYU would be my first choice...still have to finish the NYU scholarship application, and then it's all DONE!
good luck for all of you!

Guess not. Just the amount of funds you have to declare on the application itself.
My materials arrived at the UoC last Monday, i called them and they told me I should expect to hear from them by Wednesday.

i think you just have to mention your resources, and if you're intending on applying for financial aid, and if they admit you, then they will send a financial aid form...

but their website indicates that very few grants are available for international students...

good luck!

I have just received an email from Uni of Chicago indicating my application is completed. I can assure you that the process took them more than 2.5 weeks so hang in there! No need to worry :)

I understand that they consider applicants on a rolling basis and should have decisions in February so good luck everyone!

I also received their confirmation. It states:

Thank you for submitting your paper application materials for the LL.M. program at the University of Chicagos Law School. We ordered your transcripts from LSAC. We will keep your materials in a working file until we have received the outstanding documents as indicated in your application. Once the file is complete and we submit it to the Graduate Studies Committee, we will send you another email.
