It was informed later. My admission was offered on Feb 1 while the scholarship was informed on March 5 with a deadline by March 10.

I have turned down the scholarship because of personal reasons so I guess they would reallocate the scholarship soon.

About a week ago I received a scholarship offer from Upenn covering tuition, so I guess they are already notifying applicants.

Were there any references about scholarship in your letters of admission?

Let me explain: initially I thought that fin.aid information is IN THE ADMISSION LETTER. I understand that admission decision and financial aid decision are being made by two different departments, but when both decisions are made - they send it out in one letter.

For example CLS is more or less clear with this - they either DIRECTLY SAY that you will get no aid, or say that this decision will me made later on.

As for NYU it is also clear - if they are giving money - they say it right in the admission letter.

Having acknowledged that, I am extremely surprised that UPENN gives money far after the admission letter. Did they promised that to you or it is just was a complete surprise?

ok. I am in the U.S. but I just got my package today. No mention of scholarship though so I assume I am out of the scholarship race.
