LL.M. Info Day at Maastricht University on October 25

Many of the world’s leading law schools now offer programming in entrepreneurship, whether full LL.M. degrees or shorter certificate programs for those who already have a legal masters degree. Other institutions run courses in related fields, such as commercial law or intellectual property. And some law schools run start-up incubators, a good place to launch a fledgling company.

Law schools are looking to smash the glass ceiling. Most of the highest-ranked institutions have achieved gender parity or are close to, while many have exceeded that threshold. But the highest proportion of women tend to be found at lower-tier schools, and especially public institutions.

As calls across civil society grow louder for a more inclusive form of capitalism, affordable housing, fair wages, welfare and rights for workers, law schools are launching programs that seek to champion positive change in society.

While technology brings significant benefits, it also presents new ethical, regulatory, and skill-related challenges for legal professionals. To help lawyers adapt to these changes, a whole host of law schools are now running specialist LL.M. programs in Legal Technology. They focus on how technology is increasingly being used to provide legal services.
