I'll ask this often repeated question, please bear with me. I'm a law graduate from India with one year litigation experince. I wanted to know from which would it be best country to pursue master in laws from; UK, US or Australia. From the Australia boards, the impression that is created is that US/UK maybe the preferred destination but I couldnt find the reasons as to why.
What would be my future prospects after LL.M. Will I'll be allowed to work at all, atleast as a paralegal or support staff if not in actual litigation, in the country of my LL.M.
Another important question specifically from the Indian members here is, what when I return home? What sort of offers can I expect? Is it worthwhile to spend all the money and time on a foreign degree if I wish to return to India ultimately?
If I go for education abroad at all, it will be on student/education loans, so its very important for me to know whether I'll be able to pay them back at all .. heh heh
US, UK or Aus??

I live in Sydney ( I am a medical grad from India who is planning to do the London University external LLM ) but would be dubious about choosing Australia* for a LLM.
My son is doing his LLB in Australia and I will be encouraging him to go to Oxford, Cambridge or Harvard for a BCL/LLM when he finishes (If I can still afford the cost**).
If he does not get into those places, only then would I consider letting him do a LLM locally.
*Admittedly, Sydney University does have a reasonable LLM program. However, it is simply not in the same class as Oxbridge or Harvard.
** The cost at Oxbridge will be very similar to doing it at Sydney. $Harvard$ is rather more expen$ive. :-)
